It is with incredible pity that we learn of the demise of our previous player Tony Marchi. He was born in Edmonton on 21 January 1933, joined as a young player in the last part of the 1940s, and made his first-group debut as a 17-year-old in a Second Division match against Grimsby Town at White Hart Lane in April 1950, under Arthur Rowe.
Tony Marchi was a previous chief of the Club during the 1950s and was an individual from our 1961 and 1963 European Cup Winners’ Cup-winning setups.
Tony was the sole player on the crew for both of our First Division titles in 1951 and 1961, and he was adequately adaptable to fill an assortment of positions.
In addition, he left us in 1957 to join Juventus.
